I think you can't have a Hong Kong trip without walking a certain length of Nathan Road. This road is a major thoroughfare of Hong Kong and it is filled with shopping centers, restaurants, and major business players. We booked our place in an accommodation place right along this road; there are plenty if you're looking just now.

Major north-south road in Kowloon. This is a busy vehicle traffic street that is also lined with thousands of retail shops, restaurants, coffee shops, parks and community gardens, religious buildings and hotels. The road's history dates back to around The street is noted for its incredible crowds, particularly in areas around Mongkok and near the southern end in TST, where visitors find themselves shoulder to shoulder with residents and tens of thousands of tourists taking advantage of the shopping mecca scene in Tsim Sha Tsui.

It behaves like one. There is a lot of people, a lot of noise, a lot of hustle and bustle. On portions of it you have hawkers trying to sell you just about anything and they can be difficult to get rid of if you stop to listen to them. Keep on walking and ignore them. I love Hong Kong but I go there for the hiking, so the city isn't where I hang around.
There are some great eateries in the area and the walk to the Esplanade to see the light show is not far away. But it has two big universities, a hospital, and a train station. This mall makes this area bit more lively.
