So, can't really say that it's more worse in the western world than here. And tbh untill and unless we don't recognize our flaws and keep on ignoring it, we can never progress as a society and nation. Because at the end of the day, discrimination springs from ignorance itself. Tbh i have never come across any guy, except one, who asked about my caste or showed any hatred towards any particular caste. But to say that caste system existed centuries ago and it is barely in the Indian conscious now isn't true. The recent Hathras Case is a very strong evidence of the fact that caste system exists in our country and discrimination happens on that basis.

It may not happen on a very large scale in big cities and towns but it's existence in small towns and villages isn't deniable.
