The casita itself is very spacious and comfortable, with an intelligent layout and practical amenities. Most of the walls are glass doors offering sweeping views over the ocean. As best as I can tell, I think all the casitas have more or less the same view.
Privacy among the casitas was OK although I think the vegetation needs to mature perhaps past hurricanes have been a challenge on that front. We slept extremely well on the very firm mattress. It is definitely worth getting a casita with a pool - we used ours regularly for morning, mid-day and evening dips and the temperature was always perfect. After only one previous stay at an Aman Aman Venice — reviewed on this site — not overly impressed , I was very interested to see what Amanera would be like and whether, as a result, my husband and I would become Aman-devotees.
This is an entirely different order of resort and we were overwhelmed especially by the personal and kind service and attention we got from everyone. Management are visible throughout the day and evening and we greatly enjoyed meeting Laura, Ray, Caroline and Nick. It seems invidious to mention individuals when everyone was so good but I would especially like to mention Birmaly who laid out a wonderful special dinner for us one evening , Joelibi I went through every rum cocktail that he could create and am now addicted to Manjuana and also great people who drove us around — Vladimir, Daniel and Leonardo.
The accommodation is excellent with superb attention to detail on things that make a difference to the quality of your experience. This includes: 1 The lighting. So many new luxury hotels now have very dim lighting but at Amanera they have perfected this. You can easily control the lights — inside and outside — and have the choice of bright or dim lighting. Again, a simple observation but they were excellent. So I now do understand the Aman style and loved the very personal service here — meal times when you want them, no need to book a restaurant etc - although missed having the chance for a casual chat with other guests you hardly see anyone.
My husband reminisced about the Four Seasons Tented Camp which is also small with superb service but more sociable which we like. I would say that for the price charged, the dinner cooking could be improved.
I would so much prefer a simple piece of well-grilled fish than the more elaborate dishes presented, whereas breakfast and lunch were perfectly good. Consider me sold! I have been to a lot of luxury resorts all over the world, however I have never experienced service like this! They make sure everything is perfect at all times for you. It was the ultimate romantic getaway for my husband's and I's nine year anniversary. Upon arrival the manager awaits you to greet you by name and with cold towels.
Every time you return to the resort they have someone greet you and give you cold towels. I am not sure how they do it, but all of their employees know you by name and they make everything extra special. I highly recommend you get a massage - one of the best I have ever had. We got one every night.
This hotel has the best service I have ever experienced and from now on, every romantic getaway will take place at an Aman resort. I love them for the service, locations, and cultural interest. This one is one of Aman's newer properties. Often the food can be forgettable in these, often remote, locations.
But, this was an Aman first for me. I also took the time to read the negative reviews. Please note that these reviews took place near to its opening and are not seem to be relevant to the Amanera of today. Now the basics: Immediately upon arrival we were greeted by a hotel manager and cool refreshing towels. We were immediately shown to our rooms after a brief orientation to the property. The architecture, I must say, is impressive and beautiful. Clean lines is the rule of the day but ample cushioned seating everywhere makes it feel cozy and welcoming.
The rooms are spacious and pristinely cleaned. Everything was in perfect working order. The rooms were able to be cooled adequately, all used drinks were replenished immediately and the housekeeping was just perfect. Well done! The staff was exceptionally friendly. Though I speak a little Spanish, I found that there were plenty of staff available who spoke English.
I didn't pass one person who didn't either say hello, hola, good morning or good afternoon.

It rained all day, but I was happy to use the gym which has weights now and machines and luckily was the only person there at the time. The only issue I had here was that the refrigerator was not stocked with water and I had to ask for it I took 5 steps outside and received bottles immediately from the staff at the restaurant--no big deal here. The second day was spectacular.
We had a sunny day and by the time we reached the beach, they had a group of three chairs available for us. The staff helped us move chairs when we needed to and also took drink orders, etc. No issues here. There was always someone available when we needed them. Personable, friendly, attentive Well, we told him we had been to his first Aman property before, Amanpulo Truth be told, I was blown away by this kind and labor-intensive gesture it takes all day to prepare this particular dish So we decided to go to dinner early and everything was ready.
He had prepared his own ceviche which was perfectly seasoned which was followed by his main dish. I actually became emotional, because I hadn't tasted this since I was in Amanpulo and was moved that someone would take the time to do something like this for a guest. We all ate and loved it and to this day is the most amazing thing that any Aman Manager has ever done for us. Thank you, Thank you, Ray for making our stay so incredibly memorable and going out of your way to take care of us.
