We went off road 4 x4 in a jeep, horse back riding and jet skiing all as one excursion, worth every penny and it was very reasonably priced. The food was awesome and lots of choices, everything from burgers to grilled lobster and everything inbetween. My 21 year old son and several of his friends have already booked another trip to playa costa verde.
My mom and stepfather who are 71 and 62 are still talking fondly of our trip. I can not recommend this resort enough, lots of relaxing to be had and lots of fun to be had too. The experience improves each time. This time of year was definately cooler, and a little wetter. Again the staff were wonderful, Maylin and Yamil in the lobby bar, Raphael, Roberto, Edy and Lewis in the evenings, Jesus in the Aquabar, Sadie and Joel in the cigar lounge, Annia in the buffet, all of the lunch crew at the Cuban and Kenia in the snack bar. Some of these people we have known for all 5 years and it its like going to see old friends. The welcome offered is fantastic. The shade offered on the beach and by the pool is a massive improvement on last year. New static umbrellas everywhere.
After the hurricane a couple of years ago, so many trees were lost on the beach but the Cubans have worked so hard to restore the damage. Food wise, i have never understood how people can complain. The choice is huge. Two or three grills are operating each meal, cooking fresh meat, fish, eggs, pancakes, etc. I would suggest to anyone saying they had food poisoning, review from Canada they first look to their water consumption.
